Join us as Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts celebrates the opening of the 2024 Festival! This year, we’ll be showcasing the arts in Fairfax City on one exciting, arts-filled, 4-day weekend – April 25 – 28!
Featured at our Opening Reception at Old Town Hall, Friday, April 26 at 7pm:
- The first annual Spotlight Art Contest and Art Auction where all reception attendees will be able to participate by casting a vote for their favorite artwork on display. The top three receive cash prizes and winners will be announced this evening! Several pieces will be available for purchase through our Spotlight Art Auction – online and at the reception!
- Classical guitar entertainment by Connley Fleming
- Cocktail Hour/Lite Fare and Dessert Reception
- Mason Jazz Piano & Sax Combo with Charlie Murdock & Jeremy Fagen
- The City of Fairfax Theatre Company performing highlights from their upcoming Cabaret – Kyle Chua, Courtney Washington, Mylo Cluff, Noah Mutterperl & Sharon Petersen, accompanied by Matthew Brown
- Fairfax Academy (FHS) singer/songwriter Abigail Ragan
- Piano solo performance by our two Ruth Haycock Piano Scholarship Recipients from George Mason University
We will also be introducing our Spotlight Honorary Chairperson, Sharon Petersen, who has been a steadfast supporter of the arts in Fairfax City, and we’ll be honoring John Mason, our dear friend and the former Mayor of Fairfax City who passed away in February. John was a fervent supporter of the arts, and a founding member and past President of Spotlight on the Arts.
