Jazz and Wine Festival – New Indoor Venue and Program Update!

Due to the weather forecast this Saturday, May 7th, the outdoor Fairfax Uncorked- Jazz and Wine Festival is cancelled; HOWEVER, all music performances will be moved INDOORS to the Sherwood Center in Fairfax City!!

This event is now FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC with Plenty of FREE Parking on Site!

A small selection of wines will be available for purchase at $5 a glass from our original participating wineries and we’ll be offering free, individually wrapped snacks. (The wineries and food trucks originally reserved for this event will not be in attendance.)

Feel free to come and go as you please as talented Mason Jazz performers will be playing throughout from 3:15 – 8:00 pm.

(For those who purchased tickets ahead of time, they will receive their refunds by the end of this week.)

MUSIC PROGRAM 

3:20 – 3:40 pm:  Caroline Whichard and Nareg Boghosian

3:40 – 4:00 pm: Nareg Boghosian and Bryan Dicks

4:00pm:  JOHN KOCUR

Jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader John Kocur performs original music and unique interpretations of American popular songs from the past and present.

4:40 – 5:00 pm: Emily Davies and Bryan Dicks

5:00 pm:  DISTRICT PANTET

District Pantet, comprised of steel pannists from the Mason Jazz program, performs music in a variety of genres, including Soca, Classical, Jazz, and more! Members of District Pantet have performed with Andy Narell, and Victor Provost.

5:40 – 6:00 pm: Tomas Jackson and Gabe Rivera-Martinez

6:00pm:  DARDEN PURCELL

Darden Purcell, critically acclaimed vocalist as “one jazz singer worthy of the name” has performed nationally and internationally and is the Director of Jazz Studies at George Mason University.

6:40 – 7:00 pm: Jason Seiler and Nelly Solares

7:00 – 7:20 pm: Kyle Kelly and Jason Seiler

7:20 pm: GRAHAM BREEDLOVE GROUP 

Led by Louisiana native Graham Breedlove, the Graham Breedlove Group blends an exciting mix of traditional New Orleans and Louisiana music rhythmic influences with the harmonic and melodic innovations of modern jazz, playing a mix of original compositions and unique arrangements of jazz standards.
