Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts Festival is celebrating its 40th year with two performance-filled weekends – April 25 – 27 & May 2 – 4!
Our Opening Reception “Stage Door Canteen” is Friday, April 25 at 7 pm as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the USO – an organization created to boost morale of service members at home and abroad!
Our Spotlight Honorary Chairperson this year will be Jennifer Passey, Senior Director of Communications at the USO and a former member of the Fairfax City Council!
Featured at our Opening Reception:
- The 2nd Annual Capital One Hall Art Contest where YOU will select our Art Contest winners by voting for your very favorite. The top three artists will receive cash prizes: The New York Life Grand Prize of $1500, 2nd Place of $1000, and Third Place of $500. This year we’re excited to offer the Fairfax Art League Student Award with a prize of $500! Contest winners will be announced at the reception.
- The Art Contest Finalists’ artwork will be on exhibit at the reception, and will be available for purchase
- A Cocktail Hour/Lite Fare & Coffee/Dessert Reception will be catered by Artistry Catering
- The Musicale will feature local performers in a variety of genres – theater, dance, music – including the City of Fairfax Theatre Company and Next Reflex Dance Collective
- Piano solo performances by Ruth Haycock Piano Scholarship Recipients from George Mason University
